This year they changed the format of the tournament.

They have placed everyone into Pools and they wrestled in Pools all day long today.

They have determined the top eight wrestlers based on the pools and they will be placed into eight man brackets sometime tonight.

Tomorrow they will wrestle those eight wreslers to the eighth place to determine All-American Status.

I do know that there are quite a few Kansas wreslters who have earned All-American Status and will continue to wrestle tomorrow.

Unfortunatley I did not get a chance to write them down before I left the venue.

Kansas Kids Did Well - I may have counted wrong this morning but it should be pretty close to what I have below. Outstanding job Kansas Kids and Coaches. Brute is suppose to publish the results as soon as they can.

19 Freshman Top 8
15 Sophmores Top 8
19 Juniors Top 8

We had a group of 15 we were helping coach and 10
finished top 8. All 15 won at least one match. I was pleased with their effort.

Strawn - 2nd
Deshazer 3rd or 4th I think.
He (Deshazer) was winning 12-1 in his first match and got called for a slam. His Opponent did not continue. That is all I know about that.
Strawn and Edison wrestled the first match on Sunday. I think Edison was in for 3 and 4th.
The last one Sutton-Kearn I have zero info.

In the Freshman division I am pretty sure that Mitch Arnold won the 140lb. class.

Ray Hall did not win the 140lb. freshman class. Freshman Austen Heidlage, Missouri, won the freshman 160 lbs. class

Is there ever going to be a full listing of results posted for this tournament? Kind of disappointing that you couldn't follow it on the internet and that they couldn't even post results.

Chewbacca: Kyle Allen took 2nd, Jameon Rush also finished 2nd along with Josh Marrs.

C-Dub215: Weatherbee took 3rd - in that same bracket (Junior 130) Nick Nothern from Salina South took 2nd and Sean Flynn from Lansing took 4th, I believe Austin Jonas also was an All-American in that bracket.

Scarecrow_103: Paulie and Ely did not wrestle each other.

Brett Swoyer from Rock Creek/Manhattan Kids is an All-American placing 6th in the Sophomore 125 class.
