Having wrestled in NW Kansas and now residing in NE Kansas I try to follow the 3,2,1A schools out here as much as I can. As I sat here looking at some stats and assessing the Silver Lake argument I decided to throw my $.02 in for thought.

I look at it as Silver Lake qualifying 8. 3 of their wrestlers placed 4th at Onaga. No offense to them (great job and good luck) but I don't see a 4 seed from an eastern regional making much of a splash. Of the remaining 8, 4 are underclassmen. I don't know how many of the young ones qualified last year, but it's quite a learning experience your first time to Hays for sure. Lamar and the older Mellies have a good shot at the finals and probably half of the other 6 will place. 5 medals is a good showing, but it's not going to match up to the 4 or 5 finalists Norton "could" land.

Anything can happen, that's why they wrestle the matches... but I'm saying top 5 finish, probably not top 3. Coach Lamar has done a great job in building a quality, competitive program though and I would kind of be tickled to see them bring home 3rd. (Provided my alma mater is in 2nd.)
