I once was three pounds over after practice and my coach told me to only drink a couple ounces of water that night. the next morning I was 5 pounds over.

We once had a kid come in 3 over and when asked what he had eaten, he said " just a couple snickers and a diet coke" Like the diet coke was supposed to counter the calories in the snickers.

Or like calories even matter the night before a weigh-in. All that really matters is how heavy the food is.

"In this stage of the game it's not about WHAT you eat but HOW MUCH you eat" Coach Frohling.... but some people just don't understand that on our team...even our 103lbser doesn't get it...he's 112 right now and a tournament on saturday...but the real started like this...
We had a dual the next day and we were weighing out at practice and Coach Frohling was standing there seeing where we were so if anyone was over he'd know what to expect, well our heavy weight (I'm from Russell, by the way) he was a senior last year, he was usually about 275 and always made weight with little sacrafice, but we all were done and we were talking to the Coach and he said that he was like 4.5lbs. under so we figured okay whatever, so we weighed in the next morning and he was 4 over? how in god's graces you gain that much I don't know but he had a good excuse, he only drank a little water and ate a small piece of roast beef, well the more we talked to him the more the truth came out, he actually drank almost a gallon jug of water and a huge plate of roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy, needless to say the fat boy ran it off that morning, but seriously? 8lbs in one night, how's that humanly possible?

It is very easy to gain and lose water weight quickly if you are in top shape. In college I lost 13 pounds in 8 hours and put it back on in 1 hour. Not a recommended practice. We found out we could weigh-in a day early because the team we dueled wanted one weigh-in. They had a meet the night before us. Both coaches agreed and the rest is history. It took three different workouts to get the weight off. It only took one sitting or standing to put it back on.

My Little cousin did not make weight today. I felt bad for him. It is hard to run of 1.5 pounds when you are suppposed to be 75lber in the 7th grade.
