...predicts for 321-a this year? I believe its going to be a toss up this year, between Hoxie, St. Francis and Norton. I dont think Hoixe has the death grip on the state title as many would believe. St. Francis and Norton are equally capable of taking the State title this year in 321-a. and if Hoxie does win it again this year, they wont run away with it. Hoxie also graduates a bulk of the team this year as well, which will end thier domination in 321-a.
St. Francis brings 7 returning state qualifiers, and 3 state placers. only one of which is a senior, Trey Hilt, who is projected to be at 152 or 160, 3 Juniors, Gabe Walz at HWT, Derek Ross projected to be at 171, Gabe Gienger at 145. 3 Sophomores, Dylan Loyd 119 or 125, Trevor Richard 103 or 112, and Gabe Smull at 152 or 160. Illness and injuries hampered St. Francis from finishing higher in the state standings last year, (9th).
St. Francis also brings in several talented freshmen, one of which is Jordan Gienger, at 125 or 130 who could do very well.
As usual Northwest Kansas will be exceptionally tough, as there are a lot of quality kids and tough teams. There will be no shortage of action this year, as the year progress to the 321-a state tournament.
