unfortunately, since the KSHAA has a limit to how many miles from home a Ks. team can travel to compete, in many cases the only chance a Ks. team would have to compare itself to the qualityof wrestling in other states is to go to an in-state tourney with out-of-state entrants. It is interesting to note that some of the guys that minimize the talent of the smaller western schools are the first to pick up the torches and pitchforks when one of the western teams leaves
their area to attend another event. Goodland is a very high quality program but there are many others equally so that will be eager to replace them at newton. It seems kindaodd that tourneys like the Goodland dual tournament are looking for entrants-- it would be good to see more of the eastern teams head out west and try out the very hospitable surroundings there. I beleive you would be surprisd at how well run many of the western tournaments are and how nice the people are out there.
