Hoxie would beat Ark City this year. Ive seen both teams wrestle this year and Hoxie in my opinion is stronger in the lower weights. Especially when both Schamburgers are on, as well as farber. Usually Gilliand, Spillman, and both Schippers kids are on. As well as the 160 pounder for Hoxie. I just think, that since you AC wrestler coming from such a storied program wouldnt get on here and embarass yourself and your school like you did. By saying that little hoxie, and little state, etc..... You dont see any Hoxie wrestlers on here talking smack on other schools. You should know just like I know, each team puts 14 wrestlers on the mat and they let the wrestlers do the talking. Hoxie has been very good the past couple of decade or longer, the same with Ark City. They may have not one as many state championships as Ark City has in a row or whatever. I do know that they are going for there 10th this year, and with a little luck and a lot of good wrestling they should get it. The same applies to Ark City. I just think that Hoxie and Ark City are the two best teams in the state, and its a shame that they do no get to wrestle.( also hoxie and ark city have wreslted some of the same competition and hoxie as defeated those opponets by more. I know this dosent mean much, but its a interesting sidenote.)

AC Wrestler, you should crawl out of your ark city cave and look around the state. It would do you good....then once you get out, go to wal-mart and by yourself a clue. thanks.

just a little sidenote cowley county (ark city) has the highest rate of stds in the entire state of kansas. so obviously they are leaving the wrestling department and taking up dirty dirty wh0res. i think ac wrestler just needs to shut up and worry about the burning sensation he has worried so much about.

Just a little FYI, Ark City isn't the only town in Cowley County. Ark City's probably doesn't make up half of Cowley. And on a sidenote, not so sure about this year but Ark City's best year out of all those 11 would definitely take Hoxie this year, i mean come on there was a time when they had two 4 timers on their squad at one time. Anyways thats my two cents.

They are that good (see Stephen Mocco). You have to remember, Blairstown is a boarding school - sort of the wrestling equivalent of Oak Hill Academy in Basketball. They have a Blue Team (varsity) and a White Team (JV) that travel every weekend all over the country (Vegas, Ohio, Virginia, Texas, etc.). They have D-1 recruits on their JV. Big time High School wrestling.

Just a note: The 123a vs. 4a, 5a, or 6a is not theorhetical-- from 1930 to 1965 that's the way it was done in Kansas. In those yearsof just one state champion with no excuses, the 1,2,3a teams won 18 state championships. The obviously better 5a and 6a teams won 14, and the 4a teams won 3. It may also be notable that Ark City, with all the hype, was only able to beat everybody when they were all together one time, and Hoxie was not able to win any during that time. If you look at head to head, St Francis and Wichita east look like the dynasties. At any rate, I sure don't see much Ark city stuff when they had to beat everybody.

Ark City has lost to Manhattan this year at Newton. Hoxie beat Manhattan this year at Beloit. 'Nuff said.
P.S. I have a strong feeling that Ark City Wrestler is one of the Cowley County std statistics

one note about the 5a and 6a state: When you win a state title from one of those schools, you have beaten wrestlers from 32 other schools. When you win a 321a title, you have beaten competitors from 72 schools. as Hoxie showed when they beat Manhattan at the Beliot tournament, you only have 14 wrestlers on a team, no matter how many kids youhave in your program.

there maybe 72 schools, but that does not mean that there is going to be 72 guys that are out for their teams. But in 5a and 6a there are going to a full 32 men.

big ups to hoxie. i know that they are not "ranked" but give it up to them. i bet you that they could beat many of those teams and most if not all of those schools are private schools and hoxie is a little public school. give it up for HOXIE!

I think that what Hoxie is doing this year is unbelievable. I mean, they have such a limited number of male students (I think I read somewhere around 70)to choose from, all of which I'm sure are not athletes, and that is split between wrestling and basketball. Manhattan, I would imagine, has over 500, at least, male students to choose from. Hoxie beat them (2nd in 6A) and Clay Center (1st in 4A) by 70+ points. That is pretty amazing. There must be something in the water in Western Kansas...
