Usually you will need registration money if you are not pre-registered.. Bring your checkbook with about 60 bucks in your account. Bring something to write with. Bring something to write on. Wear all of your officials gear, including your red and green wrist bands. It will last about an hour and a half, usually. Longer if everyone begins laughing hysterically because you show up on full gear.

Sorry Carmona, but if you are going to officiate, be ready.....I think that it's great that you are wanting to officiate. If I can give any advice, it would be this. Officiate as many matches as you can in practices. Volunteer to do JH challenges, kids challenges, whatever that you can do to get some experience. Do not hesitate to ask your area supervisior or another experienced person to help you get started. You can take a big step tonight by asking for advice rather than acting like you are going to set the world on fire as an official. When you do get your opportunities to prove yourself, be very loud and assured with your calls and actions. If you seem unsure of yourself and uncertain with your calls, you will get eaten alive. You are going to make mistakes, admit them and move on. Coaches will buy into that more than anything else, and they want good officials. Good Luck

I'm going to set the world on fire as an official!
YeSSSSSSSSs!
First things first. They all made fun of me when I showed up in all my gear. I started to cry.....but then they all took turns kicking me after I fell down. I think they really like me.

Might also consider becoming a member in the Kansas Wrestling Officials Association. http://www.kwoa.org Here's our site. Most everything you need to know to get started is on there. Dues are low and the ability to converse with other zebras is great. Good thing if you're new to the idea of reffing: tips, pointers and tons of advise... We're holding our annual clinic on Saturday, Nov. 5th, at the El Dorado Civic Center. Starts at 8am and runs through... Our clinician will be Dr. Pat McCormick, Head Official for the NCAA Wrestling Tournament. Cost of the CLINIC is $27. Lunch is provided. Rick does his rules meeting for us at 1 pm and then we cover the rules test afterwards. Following the test review, the Ks. Kids hold a rules meeting to certified too and then there is a social time... Feel free to call or email me to ask whatever questions, as I'm on the KWOA Advisory Comm.

For those in Wichita, don't forget the rules meeting at Goddard Middle School on Monday at 7:30 PM. Registration for New Refs is $40, for old timers that haven't signed up yet $60.

I don't have the money for gas let alone to pay for being a new ref. Carmona, the girl was the gal I thought I would marry one day, she was killed a few years back in a car wreck. She would have been 26 on the 29th of September.
