I can get the image to pop in the box but I hit ok or something and then it doesn't pop up on here...hopefully it works, otherwise I need Avatar Advice.

Go to the web site that you want to get your pic from and right click on the image then select the URL with Ctrl "C" the go back where you set the avatar URL and Select Ctrl "V" and paste the link in the box. Set avatar image and save and udate your profile. If this is two complicated for you how are ever going to teach second grade silly.

basically if you have a photo on disk you have to put it onto a website, right?

No it has to be posted some where on the internet some times your provider allows some web space if you know how to utilize it.

I will sit on you and make you say "uncle." While doing this, I will have someone take a picture, upload it onto a website, and that way you can use it as your avatar. This will be a constant reminder that if you mess with the candle, you get burned.
