i agree the tournametn was verry well run and that is big ups to coach fuller but i do belive that it was doomed from the start kshsaa has to factor in the cmpatition level and the predicted #of wrestlers attending the tourne and if there is a case like there was at p-burg this year where it was impossible to get done untill 12 (sorry coach fuller but they went way past 11:30) then for the sake of the wrestlers health and the attitude of the fans regionals need to be hosted by schools with 3 mat capacity and it that means going to some area 4A schools, then so be it

Why are you so fixated on 4A schools hosting 3-2-1A regionals? Good grief, 4A gyms are not automatically bigger than 3A or 2A or even some 1A gyms!

And yes, the KSHSAA does have "requirements" that schools are supposed to be able to meet in order to host post season events.

The Lakin Regional was ran very well for (I heard) this being their first major tournament. There were 16 man brackets, granted first round was a lot of byes, but there was a 2 hour break Friday afternoon and still was done about on schedule. Everything on Saturday was moved up and finished earlier due to the snow. All on two mats. Lakin has one of the best facilities I have every seen, no spectators on the floor, which helps keep things flowing without a bunch of people in the way. I think if the brackets would have been full, it would have been pretty much on schedule.
