I think that the 4a state tourney will be one heck of a tourney it will be a barn burner to see who wins it. I would have to say its between three teams. Goodland, Clay Center, and Norton.
Clay has 10 wrestlers, goodland has 9, and norton has nine also and 6 of those were regional finalists. I would say its going to come down to what team picks up the back side points and any pin would help. I was gonna make a prediction but I think it will be to close to call. From the looks of the brackets it will be tough.

If Close wins his match and betsworth wins his match it will be a good second rd at 125 between those two. Also i noticed that if both pruser and allison win they will have each other in the second rd allison was raked 1 all year and pruser was ranked 2 all year at 135. Also i saw Sterling from sping hill as a 4 seed that could cause some troubles to.

Spelt is Spelt Spelled. Just thought that I should clear that up for someone correcting another persons spelling. We will forget the wit instead of with.

Don't over look the talent of the Concordia Wrestling Team. They steped up big last week at regionals comming in second beating Basehor-Linwood. But Falling short of being cahmpions Clay Center204 Concordia184 were the scores.Concordia could possibly have three state champs Eric Deneault at 112 Jacob Strait At 189 And Danny Lavioe At 215. They all have the talent if the just have all the determenation they need to do it. Denault has killed manius once this year and manius beat Deneault in ot. Striat has beat browning and has been un stopable up until gleen at regionals and i'll bet that made he piss** off and he will be on a rampage at state. Lavioe is a great wrestler who hasnt got much credit lately. I want you to know that he wrestled Justin Mathius two a duoble over time match one his worst day of wrestling ever and he as been on a rampage the last couple of weeks. So watch out for who ever is in his path. Concordia also has Ty Gennette who should be able to pullout atleat a 5 at state if not higher. They also have grant wisdom who is a two time state Qualifer who should be able to place in the top 6 at state. Concordia also has Weston Flemming who has not had the most succeseful season but is a very dangerous and determined wrestler. They also have Adam Taylor and Garret Jensen who are very dangerous wreslers. If Concordia comes out like a ball of FIRE like regionals i would watch out.
Good Luck Concordia Wreslers And Kick Some A**

Sometimes I just talk out loud on here. However, I feel very confident on my picks here. The reason I have Goodland as high as I do is because I don't think 215 and 275 are real tough in 4A and think Goodland could do well in these weights. Clay Center easily could get 4 in the finals, as well as have depth. I like Columbus chances to get 3 in the finals possibly a 4th if Baylor pulls off the upsets I think he is capable of. I like Clay Center and Columbus

I just thought it would be nice to review last years picks. Now it is time for new picks. I am not ready to pick em just yet. I am ready to say both Abilene and Fort Scott will be in the top 5, up from last year. They have both numbers and potential champions.

Of course this opinion is biased but I think Abilene will finish in the top three this year. And given some good curcumstances they could even win it. Abilene has Jake Kriegbaum, Josh Peterson who didn't place last year but is very likely to this year. Also a freshman coming in who might contend in Tanner Dawson the younger brother of Brice Dawson. Tanner finished second last year in kids state to Cory Dreiling from Salina South. Then you have Brian Zey, Lucas Geske 5th two years ago , Adam Eckert 4th last year, Ross Taplin 5th last year, Brice Dawson. Make no mistake all of these kids will do well at the state tournament. Im looking forward to the season this year.

fanatic, how can you say 275 isnt tough? the top four wrestlers placed in the top four last year. i think it could be one of the toughest weights.

If you will look at the date of that post, it was prior to the 2002 state tourney and I stand by it. This year will be just the opposite and 4A will possibly have the toughest 275 class

I think that Colby will have a good shot at the title this year they return 8 state qualifiers from last year and a state champ in Mainus, and 2 state runner ups in sharpe and luedke. They also have a few newcomers and some people that last year didnt get on the varsity team that will make some waves. Considering they got 4th last year and only lost one senior I think that the title will come back out west this year, but I cant wait for the season to get started. Please post your opinions.
