The last time the 3-2-1A tournament was won three times in a row was by Belot in 82-83-84, (I think those were the years). The amazing thing is that this three-peat was in the middle of a six-peat! They won the 4A title the year before the three 3-2-1A titles, and then won 4A two years in a row after the 3-2-1A titles.
Norton does have a LOT of points returning from last years' state tournament and, on paper, has to be the odds-on favorite to win it again; HOWEVER, as we all know there are a LOT of intervening variables that must be accounted for--some that can be controlled and some that are random.
It is a long season and anyone who looks beyond the next week of competition will often be unpleasantly surprised.
