One of the biggest disappointments was having Josh Connelly SFT default prior to wrestling Allen of Clay Center. Not sure why exactly, could have been injury, but it need not have happened. Allen had to default to O'Neil of Marysville for slamming O'Neil who couldn't continue. Later O'Neil wrestled and was beat out, but it caused a bracket problem which may have elimiated Connelly from going to state. I am sure if Allen had another chance he would have tied one had behind his back and wrestled O'Neil to avoid being too agressive; allowing Connelly his opportunity to participate at state, and correcting the imbalance on the state 152 4A bracket which as it stands...could be the toughest bracket in 4A.

Dane Kepka wrestled in the 119 lb. weight class at the Hoisington Regional and lost in the first round to Kevin Urban from Ellis; 7-0 and defauted (injury?) his second match.
Dane had hurt his back early in the year, he sat out a few duals and it just never seemed to get better, and that match against Urban really hurt it and his dad didn't want him to hurt it anymore so he defaulted out
Oh well, **** happens and life goes on

Thanks for the info... sorry to hear that. Is he expecting to be back next year or is this something that could be career-ending? He really looked good at 103 as a freshman.

Right now he is not sure, Dane is going to try to play baseball and see what happens, needless to say he wasnt very happy about defaulting out...

I'll be watching! No disrespect to the 321A teams other than the ones form NWKS, but never pick against a NWKS kid. I have seen a wrestler form NWKS with 21-18 record make a kids form central or eastern KS with a 30-2 record look like a fool. If you don't believe it look at the 171 bracket form the 2003 state tourney.

I know!! I'm from NW Kansas. I was just pointing out that that upset at regionals set up a matchup that probably wouldn't have happened until the quarters atleast. I bet BOTH of them wish it wouldn't have happened, and I bet Olson is thinking the stars are aligning for a good run. Tough weight anyway, just saying.
