I see what you are saying, brentvoth. That is probably true. As for any of the 6 wrestlers involved in this discussion, Altman, Perez, Livingood, Shumate, Almaguer and Ely - any one of them could probably win a match with any of the others on any given day. Altman proved that last year vs Ely in the semis and this year vs Perez in the semis. I do believe Ely would win more matches than anyone else in the group if you had several round robin sessions over several weeks. From what I have seen, he is the most consistent in level of performance. This wasn't always the case, but over the last couple of years I believe it to be true. As for the comment on Livingood beating Ely this year - Ely dominated that match 90% of the time. Livingood showed why he is a champion by figuring out a way to win that war while he lost almost all of the battles. (A little help from the ref didn't hurt his cause, either - 2 questionable stalling calls in the last 30 seconds, the last coming as the towel boy was smacking him)
