Didn't Turner and Aquinas from the Metro win state titles during these years? Yes and a lot of underclassmen from both schools contributed to those State titles.

Of course you would rather rely on rankings than how we finish each year at Senior Nationals et.al. Gutstench you need to stick to beating up on the metro crowd and leave the rest of the state alone. When you get outside of your area as you did when you first came on this board it makes you look weak on your facts.

Kansas would have more ranked if KSHSAA would allow teams to travel farther. It is hard to compare Kansas to many of these states that have people ranked since most Kansas schools don't wrestle any east coast/west coast states. And very few states in between. Get the KSHSAA to change their rules, don't continue to bash KS wrestling. Kansas seems to do fairly well at the national tournaments after wrestling season.

Gutwrench, are you sure your on the right forum, shouldn't be on the missouri forum. I am sure they would just love you. Just wondering also, How did you do in HS wrestling. Do you have a good relationship with your HS coach.

Fact: Right now 98.8% of nationally ranked wrestlers by Amatuer Wrestling News come from somewhere other than Kansas.
This is a published fact so did go gettin a mad on with me. Talk to your coaches and KSHSAA about wrestling outside of your fishbowl.

Gutwrench, A couple of quick facts for you: 1.) 30% of the University of Missouri starting lineup is from Kansas. 2.) 100% of the University of Missouri 2006 Academic All-Big 12 Wrestling team members are from Kansas. 3.) The McCormick's are 2-0 at the Metro Classic.

Didn't Turner and Aquinas from the Metro win state titles during these years? Make it the whole state of Missouri vs. the whole state of Kansas and the dual becomes much closer and in Kansas's favor. You would then be including Goddard, Colby, Goodland, Hoxie, St. Francis, Garden City among others that would be able to fill spots in the line-up that are weaker than others. I'd bet on Kansas if it was State vs. State instead of Best of Missouri vs. Decent Kansas Wrestling.

These are mainly 4321A guys as that's all I know.
at 130 for instance, you could include Hoxie's Tyler Baker or TMP's Tait Weatherbee, Tristan DeShazer?
140 throw in Cole Garcia, Lorenzo Mundy?
145 go ahead and include AJ Heckel or Taylor Finley, Jason Pyle of Sabetha
152 for instance Michael Shamberger of Hoxie
275 why not include Mike Zlatnick from Rossville or Roberts as mentioned?
An all kansas team would be better suited against an all Missouri team as I said before, they are sampling a small portion of school against their best schools, not exactly equal there.

Alas why Kansas does better on the national level than missouri, Senior Nationals comes to mind, Cadet Duals as shown above. One dual between two small areas proves nothing, when looking on the national scale now that's another story. Prove why Missouri is faultering on the national scale and Kansas is excelling if you would elaborate please.

Yes, those guys, your guys, are tough and part of the East KS lore that is no more.
Mr. McCormick, 30% of the starting MU wrestling squad is from Wisconsin and they've never lost in our metro the classic either. 20% of the starting squad is from MO. Only 10% is from PA. If you're offering a correlation between who starts for MU and the quality of their state's hs wrestling then I have a stat for you.
There are more than 7000 Elvis interpreters in Las Vegas. If that growth trend continues by 2023, 1 in 4 people in Las Vegas will be Elvis interpreters.
Let's see those KC,KS boys make a liar out of me and come within 10pts of MO and ding dong the wrench is dead.

Just a Gutwrench doesn't need to be putting down the wrestlers in Kansas, some of the rest of you don't need to be putting down the wrestlers in the metro area. There are good teams there and good wrestlers.

I'd like to see an all-Kansas v. all-Missouri dual. Let's get on it, Nebraska and Iowa do it. I think they dub it "Battle of the Border".

Okay KS you don't need to improve. I'm an idiot. I just can't figure out how we explain away a few results. Here are some to ponder-osa.
1) 123A Champs Norton lost to a Kearney, NE in a dual. did Kearney win state? 2) 6A Champs Goddard lost 223 to 165 to Ponderosa, CO. Goddard ran away with 6A 3) Baldwin TEAM SCORES 1-Oak Park, Mo. -- 459.5 (9 champions) 2-Lansing, Kan. -- 319 (1 champion) 3-Abilene, Kan. -- 256 (2 champions) 4A runner-ups. 4-Baldwin, Kan. -- 255.5 (1 champion) 5-Santa Fe Trail, Kan. -- 252 (1 champion) 4) Erisman, arguably KS's best wrestler looses to a sophomore from Oak Park hs who was a MO state runner-up. 5) Only 2 kids are nationally ranked by AWN 6)Romero Cotton's loss of the season came to a Ray Pec kid from MO.
Other than that KS relatively speaking is doing very nicely against border schools in CO, NE and MO. I didn't check OK. No need for improvement. Everything is perfect just the way it is.

Norton lost a dual to Kearney, whoopie. As stated in several other threads they were not a great dual team. They were not strong in 3 weight classes all year-had 1 open weight and had a JV kid filling in for an injured starter. They still won more head to head matches and lost by 4 points, man what a disgrace.

I think we should just let Gutwrench and his comrades wrestle in place of all of the selected wrestlers. I bet he would make a statement. See if he gets put on his back. He is so great and everything!

Also, if Romero Cotton had only 1 loss it came to Lance Roe @ Newton.
