I've forced myself to wait till a "reasonable hour" to make my first post of the day!

Today, is "All American" day. Every competitor wrestling today has earned the status of "All American!" I've had some concerns about what an AA is and I've stated those on other threads. However, most of these wrestlers today have earned that distinction. While some brackets are a bit soft other are absolutely brutal. Regardless, these are the wrestlers that are here and nothing diminishes their performance!

In a couple of hours, we will start the placement matches. Go TEAM KANSAS!

Good morning Randy! Thanks for the kind words about Steve. This is his first big bracket tournament. I spoke with him last night… while he was disappointed he said it was a great experience. He’s looking forward to today’s competition. He also coned his Mom out of a new pair of shoes and a cheeseburger. Look forward to today’s reports! Freshmen: Trent Cox, Tyler Caldwell, CJ Napier, Kyle Detmer, Jordan Brown, and Boaz Beard.

Sophomores: Romero Cotton, and in an all Kansas finals at heavyweight, we have Duane Zlatnik versus Steve Andrus.

Juniors: Paulie Hansen, Brett Bahe, Aaron Ely, and Steven Foster.

Seniors: Nash Burtin, James Fox, Tait Weatherbee, Jarrett Edison, and Xavier Louis (who has already secured first in this division)

Those are our finalists! But that is not to diminish in any way the efforts of the rest of our All-Americans ... nor the efforts of the entire Kansas team.

... and speaking of great kids, I did not follow through on my assignment, that of keeping an eye on the other fruit of your eye! (wait, did I just call your son a fruit ... ) Anyway, I'm almost sure he was fine!

I have called him allot worse... matter of fact Mike thought his name was JC until he was 12.

ohhh ... and Swayz ... you still haven't figured out who R.T. is (the coach in the corner for Matt Rein)?

I'm set up at the venue ready to get the day started! We begin with a parade of All-Americans at 8:30 and then pictures. Wrestling is scheduled to commence at 9 am!

One of the items they do nicely at the Brute-Adidas Nationals is offering an optional tournament.

In this format, all wrestlers regardless of classification, our drawn in by weight. It is a great opportunity to get additional mat time while in Omaha.

This additional tournament is available for wrestlers who aren't competing in the All American rounds. And a nice bonus is it is offered at NO additional cost!

They've cleared the mats in Omaha and we should be rockin and rollin directly!
