I have decided to take early retirement at the end of this year and resigned as High School Physical Education/Health instructor and Head Wrestling Coach. This is an excellent position with great facilities and a strong returning nucleus of wrestlers. We graduate only 1 full time varsity wrestler off a 13-1 season and have consistantly averaged in the mid to high 30's for athletes out for the sport.

If interested in the position, contact Paul Larkin or Doug Law at Augusta High School. 316-775-5461
Augusta also is in need of a Assistant Football for the High School and Head Middle School Wrestling Coach. I am not sure of teaching position for that job.

Good luck coach - you will be missed in the wrestling room as well as in the classroom. My son and I have loads of respect for you. Thank you for your dedication. Best wishes!

Mike,

I am fullfilling all duties here in Augusta through the summer which includes Dr. ED. I have accepted another teaching position with an area school but details have not been finalized at this point.

I appreaciated all your support this year and really enjoyed have Zach on the team. Great little competitor and I am sure he will follow with more enjoyable years ahead.

It is almost a given that if you are teaching Phys. Ed. you will have to be involved in athletics. I will still be involved with wrestling but no longer in the head position.

Augusta is a wonderful town and I came to know it very well while at Butler Community College, very close to Wichita to boot and a lot of great teams in the area to compete against.

Terry,

Good luck in the next position. I must say, I learned a great deal from you, just standing on the ohter side of the mat. Your teams were always ready to compete. Please keep us up to date about teaching positions that open up in Augusta as the year comes to a close.

Coach Alley,

I was always impressed with the sportsmanship that your athletes displayed on the mat beyond the freakesh abilities that many of them had. Good Luck!

Is JD Hand interested in the head job. I got to know him a little bit and he seems to be a great motivator and tireless worker. He should be considered IMO.

I think Chris Saferite would be an excellent choice, wrestled for the program had success in college wrestling, but I think he is going to be an assistant at Circle next year...not sure.
