Alright, I finally got our team website debugged and back online just in time to start putting together the 4A Preview. I went ahead and put a poll on there with some of the top teams from last year but left off new teams like Paola & Pittsburg. Feel free to vote at http://www.ehscardinalwrestling.net or voice your opinion right here.

I'll put my money on Andale to win despite the mass "exodus" from Andale. I still think they have the firepower to win it again, but it won't be the runaway that it was last year.

They have Cox, Schroeder, Thoman and Stroot. Rose Hill has Hynick 3rd, Bowen 2nd, Canale 3rd, Foresberg 2x qualifier and Zach Sparr a freshman coming in at 103 who has won a few kids state championships if I'm not mistaken. So I really don't see how anyone can pick out a winner as of right, because they are about as even as they come.

I don't think either of those two are a lock. there will be a battle of a few teams. Unless Andale has all 4 in the finals they will not be a lock. even then they may not be. Draw will have a lot to do with it. Cox is probably a lock in the finals. Depending on Schroeders weight Draw will determine, or for Thoman. Pittsburg and Paola coming in disrupts the a few of the weights were these two teams are strong. Koehn from Pittsburg will probably be at 152. He is probably the champ at that weight this year. 145 from Pitt., Brown is another to contend with. Hynick could have trouble with him. At 103 Sharky Slider (I think that is his name) from Paola will be at 103... could be the champ there. Paola also brings in vantreese (I think that is it) and Knoblet. Although these teams are in the race without the right draws they could both have trouble winning it. You also have the other Kohen at 140 returning runner-up. Although Foresberg is probably a medalist, it is not a lock in the finals.
Who ever wins it will probably need at least 2-3 finalist and 2-3 on the back. There are several teams with that capability.
I don't think it is as much of a lock as some may think

I wouldn't say that Hynick will have a problem with Brown, considering Hynick has beat the guys that took 2nd and 3rd at 145 last year (Grape and Schwind). If Koehn is at Hynick's weight then that would be interesting, but I think that Hynick would still beat him.

I wouldn't say Hynick will beat brown either. Hynick is capable, but you can't hardly copare a kids feshman year to his Sophomore year. There is a big learning curve after the first year of high school. Plus he has worked out all summer from what I have seen at tournaments and is much inmproved. Hynick and Koehn wont be at the same weight. And trust me he would not beat Koehn. Again it is hard to compare one year to the next when a kid works so much to improve in the off season. Hynick is good, but he is not top 30 national level good. Koehn I believe is currently rankied 11 in the country for the Juniors. No offense but Hynick wouldn't beat Koehn. Brown baybe, Kohen no.

Considering that canale has beaten stroot and hynick has beaten thoman i think rosehill has the avantage, plus andale lost fisher, and eck and graduated the older fisher!!

well Stroot is going 103 this year so wrestling canale wont happen but cox on the other hand is prlly going 119. If hynick is at 145 him and thoman wont wrestle. If koehn and hynick are at 152 it should be interesting to se who comes out on top of that dog fight i think hynick and thoman wrestled in overtime last year. Shroeder will be at 160,152 and i dont think anyone can touch him either way. Willy Eck may also squeeze in for a place. Should be interesting year

I thought Hynick was going 145? Also, the oldest Koehn brother(derek)? Thats where they are at in the pre-season state rankings. Also why is Koehn ranked 1st in 145 when he came from 5A? Hynick ranked 2nd when he has a higher winning percentage than Koehn, and the 3rd place ranked guy has the same winning percentage as Koehn.(85%) I wish everyone would check in with their weights.

Koehn never wrestled Hynick. Derek was at 130 and Hynick wrestled 145, and Tyler K wrestled 135 last season. You might be thinking of J Brown.

I wish everyone would check in with their weights. Sure would help wouldn't it. I'm sure many people do not know where they are going to be until it gets closer to Christmas so I don't worry about it too much. Regarding Koehn & Hynick: Hynick did most of his damage on the backside and only returns 14 points where Koehn lost to DeShazer in the finals and returns 22 points ergo 2 is over 3, 22 is over 14, Koehn is over Hynick. That is about as objective as one can be when considering two seperate classes. Not that that needed to be justified. Fortunately this is not the BCS or else you might have a legitamite gripe.
