Im glad to see the Biddle continuing their tournament. Notwithstanding the obvious dangers of driving in bad conditions, I feel like it should be up to the people coming to the tournament to decide whether or not they want to take the risk. Canceling a tournament of the kids variety is an bad idea except under Extreme conditions aka the KDOT actually closes all roads leading to the tournament.

I say this because as a parent of a child who may be wrestling at a kids tournament the decision rests solely on you. if an accident were to occur it would be on you for making the choice. Whereas at a high school event they will most often refuse to take the risk because they have to bus the kids to the tournament and if the bus were to be in an accident then they would be responsible.

The other reason this becomes a problem is if you cancel and try to reschedule chances are clubs already have entries into another tournament on the weekend you wish to reschedule on, and thus you are going to be out alot of entries. I applaud equally those tournys which decide to go ahead, and those that have the guts to go ahead and cancel. You have to go with your feeling as a tournament director and I don't think either way should be chided too hard.
