Mrs. Lowe, one of the media that seems to love our sport is the Kids Sports News that I mentioned in a previous post on the topic. They were there at State on Saturday with a photographer. They took a picture of my son and asked him if they could get his parent to give them a release to print it. My son pointed my wife out to her and she got my wife's permission.

By the way your family is a great example for our sport. I don't know if I have been to a tournament in the last two years that I have not seen at least two of your family working a table during the tournament. I am sure your family's dedication to the sport is obvious to everyone you encounter. That certainly is a great way to promote wrestling.

CoachDeYoe's suggestion that we write letters to our local colleges and universities is a good one. I thought about doing that last year when the new athletic director was hired at KU. I think it would be good for everyone who has contributed to this topic to write a letter to local Kansas universities.

In the topic on the new program at Kansas Newman, I also saw a couple of good suggestions. One from Mike Furches was for clubs and individuals to contribute some money to State schools that do have wrestling programs for scholarship money. Another idea by Sportsfan02 was for people to attend local college meets to support the programs. I think that could also be extended to the local high school meets. I know it is sometimes a little difficult to do during the youth season due to conflicts. This year our family still was able to go the Johnson County High School Classic and the end of the year Metro Classic. We also were able to watch the NCAA finals live on TV recently and that is another important thing for people to do.
